Mackintosh Queen's Cross is one of Glasgow's hidden architectural gems. The only church in the world designed by the great Scottish architect, designer and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 11.00am – 4.00pm (Last entry 3.30pm)

Special notice:

Until 1st June there is a programme of maintenance and preservation activity at Mackintosh Queen’s Cross. Visitors will still be able to view the church and enjoy nearly all features including the stained glass, but will not be able to move around freely to all areas. The hall, shop, rear balcony and toilet facilities are all open as usual. For accessible access please see below

Admission charges:

Due to restricted access our usual ticket prices are suspended and you may currently visit on a pay-what-you-wish basis. These donations support us to run and preserve the church.

Free entry on Wednesday afternoons after 1.00pm

Closing Days:

3 April – Good Friday, 4 May – Bank Holiday Monday, 25 May – Bank Holiday Monday, Glasgow Fair Monday, and 3 August – Bank Holiday Monday.

Over Christmas and  New Year we are closed 21 December to 5 January 2027.

Travel Information

Bus:

First Bus 60/60A & 61 or City Bus 17 from Hope Street at Central Station.

Underground:

Alight at St George’s Cross then 15 minute walk through Cromwell Street into Maryhill Road.

Rail:

Train to Central or Queen Street Station then bus as above.

Car:

M8 J15 eastbound or J17 westbound. Follow Maryhill Road towards Queen’s Cross and turn right into Hinshaw Street. At the lights, go straight across into Firhill Road. Take second on left into Springbank Street and the Church is at the end of the street. On street parking available.

Accessibility:

Until 1st June, during our maintenance and restoration project, is it essential to let us know in advance if you are using a wheelchair or mobility aid to visit. 24 hours notice is preferred. Our accessible door is also the primary access for the maintenance team so we will need to ensure that you can visit safely.

• Wheelchair access is available on the ground floor only.
• We have one disabled toilet available on the ground floor.

Group Visits & Evening Tours

Group Visits are available throughout the year for 20 or more people. Pre-booking is essential for group visits during normal opening hours. Booking is required at least 7 working days before visit date.

Until 1st June the maintenance and restoration work at the church may impact on our ability to offer group visits. However, the opportunity to see work of this type in progress is rare and can add value to the group experience. Our hall is not affected by the works so refreshments are not affected.
